FROM THE ARCHIVE
The midyear AI review should welcome an honest answer.
Continue, adapt, or stop based on what the work has actually shown.
Retrospective editionPrepared for this archive on The edition date identifies its place in the weekly series.

At the midpoint of the year, I would rather hear a precise account of what we learned than a confident account of everything we launched. An AI programme should be able to distinguish useful progress, unfinished work, and ideas that no longer deserve the same investment.
Return to the original problem
Review each initiative against the difficulty it was meant to address. Is the task easier to complete? Are decisions better supported? Has the improvement reached the intended users? A high usage count can be encouraging, but it does not by itself establish that the business problem has become smaller.
Include the effort that was easy to miss
Ask about review time, support requests, corrections, data preparation, and ongoing operating costs. Talk to the people who carry that work. A project can appear efficient in one report while creating an additional burden elsewhere. An honest review gives those effects a place in the discussion.
Make a clear next decision
For each initiative, agree whether to continue, adjust the scope, or stop. Name the evidence behind the choice and the person responsible for the next step. I want Genellipse’s partnerships to support that candour. Changing course with good reason is part of responsible delivery. The value of a midyear review is a clearer set of commitments for the months ahead, with resources directed toward work that has earned them.
How Genellipse can help
Genellipse can support a portfolio review that connects each AI initiative to its original purpose, operating effort, and available evidence. We can help identify dependencies, clarify next decisions, and prepare a prioritized improvement plan. This offers a practical basis for continuing useful work, adjusting an incomplete approach, or redirecting investment.
