FROM THE ARCHIVE
Cybersecurity belongs in the business conversation.
The 2026 cyber discussion connects AI, interdependence, and the ability to keep operating.
Retrospective editionPrepared for this archive on The edition date identifies its place in the weekly series.

The World Economic Forum’s Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2026, published on January 12, places AI adoption, geopolitical fragmentation, and unequal cyber capability in the same discussion. My leadership takeaway is that security decisions need to be connected to how an organization actually delivers its services.
Start with a service people depend on
For an insurer, a disruption to claims support is a business event, not simply an unavailable application. For a financial organization, losing access to a critical document or approval path can interrupt work across several teams. I would begin by identifying the services that matter most, the information they need, and the partners they depend on.
Test responsibility before an incident
A useful exercise asks who can stop an unsafe process, who contacts a technology provider, and who decides whether a temporary manual service is acceptable. These responsibilities should be understood before an urgent event. An impressive monitoring screen cannot substitute for a rehearsed decision and a reachable owner.
Treat resilience as shared work
I want Genellipse’s partnership conversations to include recovery and continuity alongside new functionality. Ask a provider to explain how an interruption is detected, communicated, and resolved, then examine that explanation with the business team. The practical objective is a service that can recover in an orderly way. Security investment becomes easier to discuss when leaders can connect it to an operating dependency and a realistic response.
How Genellipse can help
Genellipse can help connect security priorities to business workflows and technology dependencies. We can work with your security and operations teams to review access arrangements, identify service risks, and define improvement priorities. GeneSecure provides a platform discussion for relevant security workflows, with scope and operating responsibilities assessed against your environment.
