FROM THE ARCHIVE
Begin the year with a problem worth solving.
An AI agenda should start with a business purpose, an accountable owner, and a useful measure.
Retrospective editionPrepared for this archive on The edition date identifies its place in the weekly series.

I want our first leadership conversation of the year to begin with the work. Where do people lose time? Which decisions lack dependable information? Where does a client experience an avoidable delay? Those questions give technology a purpose and give a team a reason to change.
Describe the problem in ordinary language
A proposal to “introduce AI” tells me little about the result we want. A proposal to help a claims reviewer find the relevant documents and identify missing information is much clearer. It names a person, a task, and a difficulty. It also allows the reviewer to challenge whether our understanding is correct before a platform decision becomes expensive.
Give improvement an owner
Someone must be responsible for the process after a demonstration ends. I would ask that owner to describe the present workflow, the acceptable quality of a result, and the exceptions that need experienced judgment. Technology colleagues can then assess the data and integration requirements. Finance can help distinguish a real saving from time merely moved to another team.
Make the first commitment small enough to learn
At Genellipse, I want us to earn the next stage of a partnership through evidence. Choose a contained workflow, agree how it will be evaluated, and examine results with the people doing the work. Include the effort of review, correction, and support in that evaluation. My question for the opening week is simple: which problem would still deserve our attention if the word AI disappeared from the proposal?
How Genellipse can help
Genellipse can help your leadership and operating teams define a focused AI opportunity, document the current workflow, and agree on evaluation criteria. Our consulting, data, and AI teams can examine feasibility together so that the first initiative has a clear business owner, an appropriate scope, and a practical basis for deciding what to do next.
