Reinsurance operations need a shared version of the case

Make treaty reporting and settlement part of the operating journey.

Business context. Practical action. Shared accountability.

UNDERSTAND THE CHALLENGE

The business issue

Reinsurance reporting can become a separate monthly exercise assembled from several systems. That separation makes corrections difficult to trace and can leave operations, finance and actuarial teams interpreting different positions.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

01

Connect transactions to treaty context

Preserve policy, claim, treaty and period identifiers through the reporting process. Version relevant rules and keep effective dates visible. An operational correction should be traceable to its original record and the interpretation that determines its treatment.

02

Distinguish reported, accepted and paid

Track the status of counterparty balances rather than collapsing them into one figure. A submitted statement may contain disputed items; an accepted amount may remain unpaid. Those states have different operational meanings and require different owners and escalation paths.

03

Design corrections as normal work

Provide a reviewed route for late adjustments, resubmissions and period changes. Reconcile the effect across administration, reinsurance and finance. AI can help classify exceptions or locate evidence, but ambiguous treaty interpretation and cash authorization should remain with the responsible specialists.

FROM DISCUSSION TO ACTION

A sequence your team can use

Select each stage to explore the proposed action. Adapt the sequence and controls to your business context.
