An agentic workflow needs change control

Treat prompts, tools and evidence sources as part of the operating system.

Business context. Practical action. Shared accountability.

UNDERSTAND THE CHALLENGE

The business issue

A workflow can change materially without changing its visible application screen. A new prompt, retrieval source, tool permission or model version can alter how an agent behaves and what it can affect.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

01

Version what influences behavior

Record important prompts, model versions, tool definitions, source collections and permissions. Tie releases to a clear intended use. Not every edit needs the same review, but the organization should have a way to identify changes that alter risk or business authority.

02

Match review to materiality

Define who assesses a change and which tests are required. Use representative cases and boundary tests for expanded capabilities. Review data and permission changes as carefully as model changes. A technically small adjustment can have a large business consequence.

03

Make rollback a business capability

Retain the ability to return to a known configuration or suspend the workflow. Understand which actions cannot be reversed automatically. Operations should know how to handle work in progress and notify affected users when a release is limited or withdrawn.

FROM DISCUSSION TO ACTION

A sequence your team can use

Select each stage to explore the proposed action. Adapt the sequence and controls to your business context.

AN ILLUSTRATIVE OPERATING SEQUENCE

Version

Capture behavior-relevant dependencies.

↻ Review the evidence. Learn from exceptions. Refine the next decision.

Version. Capture behavior-relevant dependencies.

Assess. Review changes according to consequence.

Recover. Restore or suspend with a plan for affected work.

MEASURE WHAT MATTERS

Look for evidence of improvement

Establish a baseline and agree appropriate targets. These are proposed measures, not claims of customer results.

01

Unreviewed changes

Material updates outside the approval process.

02

Reproducibility

Past runs attributable to a known configuration.

03

Rollback readiness

Recovery tested with realistic work in progress.

How Genellipse can help

Genellipse can connect Cortex AI workflows to controlled release and evidence processes. GeneComply supports documentation of the agreed review, while platform and security teams retain authority over the underlying systems.

Cortex AI can support governed agent workflows and review coordination; GeneComply can organize control evidence; GeneSecure can support the agreed security processes. Genellipse helps design responsibilities, access and escalation around the business use case. Neither an AI platform nor a framework mapping automatically establishes legal compliance or transfers executive accountability.
