A good demonstration is not an evaluation

Test the cases that challenge the business promise.

Business context. Practical action. Shared accountability.

UNDERSTAND THE CHALLENGE

The business issue

A demonstration usually shows what a system can do under selected conditions. An evaluation should establish how it behaves across the conditions that matter to its intended use, including uncertainty and failure.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

01

Specify success before collecting examples

Define the task, acceptable output and important failure types. Include correctness, omissions, appropriate escalation and access behavior. Choose representative cases with domain specialists. A single aggregate score may hide a serious failure in a small but important category.

02

Separate development from challenge

Avoid repeatedly tuning against the same examples and then presenting performance on those examples as independent evidence. Maintain a reviewed challenge set and document its limitations. Include cases where the appropriate answer is that evidence is insufficient.

03

Evaluate changes, not just launches

Reassess material changes to models, prompts, tools and source collections. Record what changed and whether the evaluation still represents the live workflow. Use operational feedback to improve the test set while preserving the ability to compare versions meaningfully.

FROM DISCUSSION TO ACTION

A sequence your team can use

Select each stage to explore the proposed action. Adapt the sequence and controls to your business context.

AN ILLUSTRATIVE OPERATING SEQUENCE

MEASURE WHAT MATTERS

Look for evidence of improvement

Establish a baseline and agree appropriate targets. These are proposed measures, not claims of customer results.

01

Category performance

Results by meaningful business case type.

02

Unsupported answers

Outputs that exceed available evidence.

03

Change coverage

Material changes reviewed against relevant tests.

How Genellipse can help

Genellipse can help establish a task-specific evaluation and connect it to Cortex AI release decisions. GeneComply can retain the supporting evidence and approvals so evaluation becomes an operating practice rather than a one-time presentation.

Cortex AI can support governed agent workflows and review coordination; GeneComply can organize control evidence; GeneSecure can support the agreed security processes. Genellipse helps design responsibilities, access and escalation around the business use case. Neither an AI platform nor a framework mapping automatically establishes legal compliance or transfers executive accountability.
