GENELLIPSE FOR ENTERPRISE

Risk, security & compliance teams

Evaluate the controls and evidence behind a proposed AI-enabled process.

THE DECISION BEHIND THE TECHNOLOGY

Which risks are accepted, by whom, and on what evidence?

An effective review makes a decision possible. It identifies the use, affected people, information flows, service dependencies, and action authority; then separates mandatory conditions from risks an authorized owner may accept. A long questionnaire without a defined workflow rarely resolves those questions.

Explore the decision and evidence flow

Select a stage to inspect its owner, evidence, and stopping condition.

CONTROLLED PROGRESSION

Scope the assessment

Define the workflow, customer impact, data classes, geographic boundaries, and external providers.

Accountable owner
Business sponsor and risk lead
Evidence to retain
Risk scenario · data flow · provider inventory
Stop or escalate when
No blanket approval for unspecified future uses or jurisdictions.
ILLUSTRATIVE BUSINESS CONTEXT

Illustrative review: an agent prepares documents for an internal approval. The risk changes materially if it can send those documents externally or update a regulated record. Review authority and destination controls at that transition rather than assigning one risk label to the entire product.

Your decision

Are the intended use, information flows, authority boundaries, and operating controls acceptable for this workflow?

What to evaluate

Sensitive data, provider boundaries, agent access, human approvals, logging, escalation, and testing of failure or misuse scenarios.

Evidence to request

A data flow, responsibility matrix, applicable product documentation, test evidence, open issues, and agreed control owners.

A useful first engagement

Review one representative workflow with business and technology owners, then record the conditions that must be met before production use.

Build a review pack that leads to a decision

Organize the pack around risk scenarios and evidence, not a list of product features. Confirm applicable obligations with your legal and regulatory specialists.

Privacy and data use

Document purpose, data minimization, access, location, retention, deletion, and third-party processing. Consider logs, prompts, retrieved context, and exports as well as the primary database.

Supplier and concentration risk

Identify critical cloud, model, data, and integration dependencies. Evaluate outages, substitutions, access withdrawal, and exit feasibility. A contractual remedy does not necessarily restore an interrupted business service.

AI and action risk

Distinguish inaccurate content, unauthorized disclosure, and unauthorized execution. Require controls at each relevant boundary and test the paths that could cause material harm.

Evidence freshness

Assign review dates and change triggers. Evidence for an older configuration may not support a new model, tool, region, or business purpose.

Make residual risk visible after approval

An approved deployment still needs control monitoring. Define which indicators require investigation, containment, or a new review.

Conditional approval

State precisely what is permitted, what remains prohibited, the conditions to satisfy, and the deadline. Connect exceptions to accountable owners rather than leaving them in a general backlog.

Ongoing assurance

Sample real operating evidence, review incidents and overrides, and monitor overdue actions. Separate the team operating a control from the team independently challenging it where appropriate.

Reassessment triggers

Revisit the decision after material source, provider, model, permission, purpose, or customer-impact changes. Preserve the prior decision and the reason the assessment changed.
